Chloe and Sam Magee guaranteed Ireland a bronze medal in badminton’s mixed doubles at the European games after pushing aside Poland’s Pawel Pietryja and Aneta Wojtkowska 21-18, 21-12 in just over 30 minutes.

THERE were mixed fortunes for Irish duo Scott Evans and Chloe Magee at the Yonex Irish International championships at Lisburn yesterday as Evans bowed out to England’s Raj Ouseph but Magee defeated France’s Barbara Matias.
