NON-LEAGUE Telford United and Gillingham provided shocks in the third round of the FA Cup, knocking out Crewe Alexandra and Premiership Charlton Athletic respectively.

Telford boss Mick Jones admitted FA Cup fever was taking over after his Nationwide Conference side swept aside First Division Crewe to reach the FA Cup fourth round.

An opening period almost completely devoid of skill and invention reached a suitably goalless conclusion at the Bescot Stadium this afternoon.
