One of the most promising distance runners in the country, Kevin Mulcaire, was the star of the Aviva/Munster Schools’ Track and Field Championships at Cork IT on Saturday.

Kanturk won the big game in Division 1 of the Munster Junior League to move into second place, two points behind leaders St. Mary’s, after their 34-15 away win over Clonmel.

Sarah O’Shea (Beara Community School) quit athletics at 12 years of age to concentrate on football.
