THE death has taken place of Glen Rovers and Cork great, Din Joe Buckley, the last surviving member of Cork’s four-in-a-row team of the forties.

GLEN ROVERS and Cork stalwart Connie Buckley, who died earlier in the week, was the Rebel captain for the first of the four-in-a-row hurling sequence of 1941-’44.

IT’S BEEN a tough week for the greats. John Updike passed away a few days ago at the age of 76.
