Limerick will be the centre of the Irish antiques trade next weekend. More than 100 dealers, antique shops and galleries will be represented at the National Antiques Art and Vintage Fair at the South Court Hotel on June 20 and 21.

THE manufacturer of faulty hip replacement parts being recalled worldwide said it will refund any of the costs associated with testing and treatment, including corrective surgery.

US FIRM DePuy Orthopaedics has promised to cover the costs of any medical treatment needed by patients who received potentially faulty hip implants manufactured by the company, which are the subject of a voluntary global recall.

Irish patients who have had hip replacement surgery may have to undergo the procedure again because of a fault with the device.
