A powerful earthquake shook Peru’s coast, killing at least 17 people as it toppled buildings and caused hundreds to flee office buildings.

A huge 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck Mozambique along the Indian Ocean coast, collapsing at least one building in the main port city and sending people fleeing into the streets.

AN earthquake slammed a remote area of Alaska’s interior and delivered a jolt so strong that it created giant waves on lakes and ponds around the continent. The magnitude 7.9 quake was one of the strongest ever recorded in the United States.
