Shares in fast food giant McDonald’s slipped in the US today after it was revealed that new chief executive Charlie Bell had undergone cancer surgery.

New McDonald’s chief executive Charlie Bell has undergone successful colorectal cancer surgery less than three weeks after replacing chief executive officer Jim Cantalupo who died of a heart attack.

THE man hailed as the saviour of McDonald’s after introducing salads and fruits to its menus, died yesterday of a heart attack.

McDonalds said its board has named Charlie Bell president and CEO, to replace chairman Jim Cantalupo, who died suddenly this morning.
