The death toll from a train derailment in northern India rose to at least 60 today as more bodies were pulled out of the mangled coaches.

A series of bombs exploded across the ancient city of Jaipur, killing at least 80 people and transforming busy markets, a jewellery bazaar and a Hindu temple into scenes of carnage.
