COUNTY councillors in South Tipperary yesterday voted to reject plans for a 3,500-home and technology park development on land partially-owned by the family of former FF TD and minister Noel Davern, outside Clonmel.

Fine Gael Senator Tom Hayes has emerged as the early leader in the Tipperary south by-election with 45% of the vote tallied.

Voters in the constituency of South Tipperary are set to face a by-election before the end of next month.
