Ireland's voting power in Europe could be cut to a third of its present level.

The People's Movement is calling for legislation to prevent multinational corporations from trying to sway voters' opinions in future referenda.

The first votes in the Lisbon Treaty referendum will be cast today on islands off the Donegal coast.
