ANOTHER lump has been knocked off the price of 12 Sylvan Bank, in Cork’s Blackrock: it has been cut from a clearly aspirational (well, obvious at least in hindsight) €900,000 of 18 months ago to €595,000, having been previously reduced to €750,000 along the way.

THAT hoary old chestnut in the auctioneering lexicon, sylvan, is also the moniker for a fine house in a fine area of Cork city.
