Tobacco giant Phillip Morris is to launch a legal challenge against the ban on display of tobacco products in Irish shops.

It is completely untenable for the Government to introduce the ban on smoking in the workplace while continuing to benefit from considerable and lucrative shareholdings in a number of tobacco companies.

Fine Gael claims the Government believes it is cost-effective to have a population that smokes.
