PRISON officers look set to reject the proposed deal to end the long-running overtime dispute.

TWO State prisons in Cork and Kildare will close their doors tomorrow after last-minute talks to resolve the impasse over prison officer’s overtime pay broke down in failure last night.

COUNCILLORS earned almost €33,000 in expenses and allowances for visiting prisons in 2002, it emerged yesterday.
