THE IDA has warned of more cutbacks in the telecoms sector following the loss of more than 300 jobs at the mobile phone software company Logica-CMG in Dublin and Cork.

WHILE job-cuts in the Logica-CMG group were not entirely unexpected, the announcement will send shock-waves through the telecom sector where, as yet, there is no end of the worldwide crisis in sight.

Tanaiste Mary Harney has expressed her disappointment at the loss of 315 jobs in Cork and Dublin.
