A man convicted of raping an 85-year-old woman has been refused permission to appeal his case to the Supreme Court.

A notorious rapist has failed in an appeal against his conviction for the rape of an 85-year-old woman suffering with Alzheimer’s disease but has succeeded in having the last two years of his 21-year sentence suspended.

The appeal brought by a rapist against his 21-year sentence for the rape of an 86-year-old woman suffering with Alzheimer’s disease has been adjourned for more than a week.

The rapist at the centre of the "C Case" in the 1990s is appealing against his conviction for repeatedly raping an 86-year-old woman.
