SOME 200 workers, including 75 in the south-west, could be forced out of the fishing industry as a result of government regulations designed to improve safety on smaller trawlers.

MARINE Minister John Browne yesterday unveiled a fresh round of decommissioning of ageing fishing vessels, in a €45 million scheme designed to safeguard the future of the seafood industry.
