An electronics company is to close in Dundalk with the loss of 250 jobs, it emerged tonight.

Irish meat producing factory Hilton Foods has secured a contract to provide the British supermarket chain Tesco with all its beef, pork and lamb.

A €9.4 MILLION start-up investment by Hilton Foods in a plant at Drogheda, Co Louth, will create 175 jobs over three years.
