Health campaigners and politicians have condemned attempts by German MEPs and business groups to force Ireland to scrap plans outlawing logos and branding on tobacco products.

GERMAN advertisers and brands have written to the Irish ambassador in Berlin claiming plans for tobacco plain packaging will have "devastating" economic implications for Irish companies.
