The third major recall by Mattel of lead-tainted Chinese toys has left the world’s largest toymaker fighting to maintain its reputation with the crucial holiday season fast approaching.

China has banned imports of British livestock and their products to guard against an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease, the government’s food safety bureau announced today.
