A masterplan has been unveiled for a multi-million euro redevelopment of the former Irish Fertiliser Industries (IFI) site at Marino Point in Cork harbour, which will include a mix of industries and a new cruise ship berth.

THERE was angry reaction last night to revelations that the Government delayed its decision to shut down the stricken Irish Fertiliser Industries (IFI) plants until after the general election.

Former workers at the semi-state Irish Fertiliser Industries are due to march on the Dail today in protest at the fact that the company's former Belfast staff received better redundancy terms than staff in the Republic.

Irish Fertiliser Industries workers from Arklow, Cork and Belfast will demonstrate in Dublin later today in protest at their treatment following the Government's decision to put the company into liquidation.
