The first woman bishop Ireland or the UK has been installed by the Anglican Church.

The Church of Ireland has appointed its first ever female Bishop.

A replacement was tonight announced for Peter Barrett, who resigned as Bishop of Cashel and Ossory in January after separating from his wife.

A new Church of Ireland Bishop of Cashel and Ossory is to be elected at the end of next month, it emerged today.
