The Irish Patients Association says Ireland’s lowly ranking in a Europe-wide healthcare study is of concern and indicates patients have been let down by successive governments.

The HSE has admitted it does not know how long patients are waiting for medical treatment either for hospital procedures or at A&E.

The HSE hit back at a critical report into Ireland’s health service, saying the report should not have relied solely on patient feedback and was strongly influenced by Ireland’s law on abortion.
