A pensioner caught importing €280,000 of cocaine through Kerry Airport last January has been given a seven-year prison sentence.

Gardaí have recovered €270,000 in heroin and cannabis following separate operations in Carlow and Cork.

A young man from Rochestown, Cork, who is accused of having more than €500,000 worth of cannabis for sale or supply in Cork last Friday, was released on substantial bail today.
