A GRAIN quality company has called for funds taken from tillage farmers’ Single Payments to be returned to growers and merchants, as a reward for participating in food safety schemes which operate to the highest standards.

Dublin: Consumers have been assured that the Irish grain that goes into their food and drink is produced, handled, stored and transported according to a defined code of practice.

Dublin: Grain merchants who have passed their audits under the Irish Grain Assurance Scheme (IGAS) were praised in Dublin yesterday for their contribution to food safety.
