A new school of public health that will seek to improve the health of the nation has been launched by University College Cork (UCC).

IrishExaminer.com and UCC are joining together to help advise Leaving Cert students on their CAO options.

A UCC professor has been presented with the Satava award, one of the most prestigious in the area of advanced technologies in medicine.

University College Cork is to be the headquarters for a €5m health innovation hub to foster links between industry and the health service. The hub has been running on a pilot basis in UCC since 2012 and has already supported 23 projects involving 27 companies.

University College Cork (UCC) and the Irish Examiner are teaming up to host a live online CAO options clinic on Wednesday 27 January, 3-5pm.

THE latest phase of management restructuring at University College Cork is moving ahead, with the creation of three vice-presidents’ posts in the areas of operations, teaching and student experience.

PROFESSOR Michael Murphy will become president of University College Cork on February 1 next, following his appointment by the governing body yesterday.
