New figures show hosting the victorious All-Ireland winning Clare hurlers last year was not enough to prevent the operators of the Clyde Court and the Ballsbridge hotels slipping into the red.

The Dalata Hotel Group has continued its proposed acquisition spree, by shelling out close to €32m in cash for two well-known four-star properties in Galway and Wexford.

The Dalata Hotel Group — which owns the Maldron chain of hotels — has said it will not acquire any share of the Clyde Court and Ballsbridge Hotels in Dublin City.

The operators of the Clyde Court Hotel that hosted All-Ireland hurling winners Clare are themselves celebrating after reporting substantially increased revenues and profits for the year.
