A survivor of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, who was abandoned in an orphanage before being adopted in Co Meath has described a new wave of tourism following the popular TV series as 'disrespectful and dangerous.'

The Chernobyl Children's International organisation has, during the past 25 years, assisted over one million children and adults since the Chernobyl catastrophe, in a variety of ways including funding thousands of medical interventions.
