DCC plan to continue with acquisitions in the current financial year, and double its British oil distribution business over the next few years.

Business support services company DCC is "well positioned to achieve market expectations in the current year", company boss Jim Flavin has said.

The ISEQ index closed up 16.19 points at 7,597.97 as a stream of positive news hit the market.

DCC has increased its oil distribution interests in the British market through the €13.3 million (£9.2m) acquisition of Carlton Fuels.
