A NEW carers strategy will hopefully be published by the end of the year alongside plans to cut the wage bill in the disability sector by 10%, Minister Kathleen Lynch said yesterday.

THE need for greater recognition of the family carer will be highlighted at a major conference, in Tralee, Co Kerry this weekend.

The "Caring for Carers" group which says over 300,000 people caring for their sick relatives in Ireland are being ignored by the Government.
