Tributes have been paid on the retirement of a respected academic administrator who helped deliver two of the State’s most critical pieces of educational infrastructure.

A university president went back to primary school for a day to mark the 20th anniversary of his college’s unique link to a gaelscoil.

Legendary GAA commentator Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh was last night honoured in a special two-and-a-half hour live programme broadcast by RTÉ Raidio na Gaeltachta in front of an invited audience of over 200 people, which included GAA officials, former players, media colleagues, family and friends.

EBS Building Society has today appointed two new non-executive directors to its board of directors, Pat McCann and Liam Mulvihill.

Liam Mulvihill has today announced his retirement as director general of the GAA, a position he has held for the past 28 years.
