Disney is under fire for filming part of its live-action reboot Mulan in Xinjiang, the region in China where the government has been accused of human rights abuses against Uighurs and other Muslim minorities.

Disney’s Mulan remake has faced multiple delays in its release due to the coronavirus pandemic. But the much-anticipated live-action film, originally slated for a March release, will now be making its way on to Disney+.

The big-budget Mulan remake will be made available to Disney+ subscribers at no extra cost in December, according to the company’s website.
