The now-completed fish pass on the River Bandon in West Cork is said to be the largest in Europe running at a 3.6km stretch.

The minister with responsibility for the OPW has been urged to intervene in talks with the contractors of the stalled Bandon Flood Relief Project.

The deadline is being extended for submissions on a €140m flood relief scheme for Cork.

Local authorities in areas affected by flooding are being urged to apply for the Office of Public Works' flood relief scheme.
