Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has accepted a Football Association charge of violent conduct and will serve a three-match suspension, the governing body has announced.

Both clubs admitted misconduct charges of failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during West Ham’s 2-1 win.

“The club has admitted the charge, but has submitted an application for it to be re-assessed due to mitigating circumstances.”

“We would urge Mr Dyke to let the legal process take its course and concentrate on delivering his promise to build an England team capable of winning the World Cup.”
