The IFA has called upon each co-op to assess its own internal savings before imposing any further cuts to farm gate milk prices.

For the last four years, the Irish Farmers’ Association has played an active part in the lobbying effort to persuade EU institutions to ease some of the burden of superlevy on expanding dairy farmers before quota abolition, in light of the fast-expanding international dairy demand.

FARM families will be given clear advice on their options for the future at Agriculture and Food 06, a major Teagasc event which will be held in Kildalton Agricultural College, Co Kilkenny, on June 21.
