ALL Irish recipients who benefit from EU farm subsidies will be publicly named, for the first time, next year.

Farmers and food companies in Ireland receive €1.7 billion yearly — the largest amount for any member state per head of population. The European Union distributes more than €48.5bn a year in agricultural aids.

But Ireland, and 10 other countries, had not made the full list of recipients public.
