THE views expressed by Cormac MacConnell (Irish Examiner, Oct 26) highlight the anti-sporting and sectarian attitudes that are alive and well in the GAA.

The GAA is to hold discussions with the Taoiseach this evening as speculation mounts over continued Government funding for the association in light of the ailing public finances.
