Clean Coasts, and other groups and volunteers are carrying out marram grass planting in dunes to help prevent coastal erosion. One of the best examples can be found in the Maharees area of the Dingle Peninsula, where erosion is a serious issue.

Urgent need to extend deadline on funds for monitoring climate change effects on our coasts, in order to preserve our cultural record and heritage.

The relentless advance of the sea has become a truth of our time. Once-productive land is now, in so many places, below the highwater mark.  Homes and roads have been abandoned to waves or coastal erosion.

The mountains of Kerry are changing and, in fact, some are eroding: thousands of walkers trampling paths along with climate change and huge numbers of sheep driving out the deer are all contributing to the dramatic developments.
