The repaired and restored Daly’s Bridge in Cork, known affectionately to generations as the shakey bridge, will reopen to the public on Saturday with its shake intact.

Daly’s bridge in Cork, known affectionately as ‘the Shakey Bridge’, is set to reopen this weekend after issues with the contractor delayed a major restoration project.

Several critical elements have yet to be completed, including electrical, lighting works, access ramps, hand and parapet railings, painting and landscaping.

However, councillors were told that some critical elements were yet to be finished

The €1.7m restoration project was viewed as a trophy heritage project for the city
