Rapper Cardi B has hit back at accusations of “queerbaiting” in her latest music video. The term is often used to describe straight performers who hint at non-heterosexual encounters, without actually depicting them, to attract LGBT fans.

Cardi B has said she is channelling the abuse she receives on social media into her new album. The chart-topping rapper spoke as she released Up, her first track of 2021 and the follow-up to her viral hit WAP from August last year.

Cardi B has filed for divorce from rapper husband Offset, describing their marriage as “irretrievably broken”. The couple tied the knot in September 2017 and have a two-year-old daughter, Kulture.

Kylie Jenner made a surprise appearance in the music video for Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s new single WAP. The rappers teamed up for the X-rated track, which was released alongside the music video on Friday.
