More than just Munster in Marseille

If you’re heading to Marseille for Munster’s Heineken clash with Toulon, you’re in for a tourist treat with fine food and a proud history.

The Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde Basilica is another attraction not to miss in the port city of Marseille (main image left), but there are plenty of other sights to attract visitors.

WHETHER one is a hardened fan or rugby widow/widower, when one is on the road for a high-stakes European decider, it’s always wise to make a weekend of it if you can. If things go badly, it will cushion the blow to find yourself in a vibrant and fascinating city by the sea and if things go according to plan, then it’s a wonderfully convivial city in which to celebrate.
