A popular Cork pottery painting hub is expanding after two years at its city centre location.

Potteria, which sits at the corner of Douglas Street and Rutland Street, first opened its doors in August 2024.

Located in what was once a launderette where both streets meet, Potteria has been providing interactive artistic and craft experiences in the area ever since.

The pottery painting hub has been a popular creative outlet for many in the city and is now expanding to meet demand.

Sharing a sneak peek of their new studio location earlier this week, eagle-eyed followers were quick to guess its location.

Owner Luciana Altoni, who moved here from Argentina in 2023, confirmed on Thursday through the pottery studio’s Instagram account that Midleton has been selected for their new location.

“We're coming to Midleton very soon! We're SO excited!,” the story post read.

“We've got some exciting things happening behind the scenes,” another story post read.

Two-hour time slot bookings fill up quickly at the studio — a testament to how popular pottery painting as a hobby has become.

Whether you’re looking to get creative again, create a unique and personable housewarming, engagement or birthday gift, or spend some time with your besties, Potteria caters for solo creatives and groups alike.

Prices vary depending on the size of the piece of pottery you choose to paint, with prices ranging from €14 to €60. Seasonal pieces are also introduced at the studio during Easter, Halloween and Christmas periods.

The studio also hosts themed evenings, such as its recent Cheese Tasting and Pottery evening in collaboration with Fifth Quarter charcuterie shop Deliwhims and its upcoming Wine Tasting and Pottery evening with Segio Rubí (The Wine Taster) on August 31.
