'Here's to forever:' Holly Carpenter announces engagement to long-term partner

Former Miss Ireland Holly Carpenter has announced her engagement to her long-term partner following a romantic and intimate proposal.

The 32-year-old revealed the news to her Instagram followers on Sunday evening with a picture of the special moment.

The post from the influencer shows her partner, Cork businessman Jamie Hunt on one knee in front of Poolbeg Lighthouse with Holly’s beloved dog Max also present.

The couple had been enjoying a sunrise walk by the sea when Jamie popped the question. While their engagement took place on Friday, the pair waited until Sunday evening to share the news on social media.

“Our most special sunrise stroll yet,” Holly wrote alongside the post. “Here’s to forever.”

In an interview with the Irish Examiner in 2022, the Dubliner spoke about her relationship with Jamie, who she has been dating for four years.

“He has seen me at my worst— definitely—and my best, so I don’t feel like I have to have any kind of guard up with him or pretend I’m okay,” she said.

“He has a really calming effect on me. I know that there is no judgement or anything so I do feel like I can really talk to him about what is going on.”
