The suit

Donegal-based Magee 1866 has long been a stalwart of slow, high-quality fashion, and its latest release is no different.

For Spring-Summer 2024, breathable, lightweight fabrics are front and centre, and the ‘Finn’ two-piece Irish linen suit is the perfect suit for a summer wedding.

With Father’s Day on the horizon, there’s plenty in this collection to show dad how appreciated he is.

The day out

Stroll through the last preserved 18th-century gallery kitchen in Ireland at Strokestown Park House, Roscommon, and enjoy the new exhibition titled ‘Food, Feasts and Footmen’ offering a window into servant life in one of Ireland’s big houses.

A new dimension to the guided tour of Strokestown Park’s Palladian manor, the unique gallery kitchen was concealed behind partition walls until its rediscovery in the 1980s.

Strokestown House Park and The National Famine Museum is open seven days per week.

    The summer jacket

Travel smarter with a lightweight jacket that can handle all weather while taking up little real estate in your luggage.

Top brands, from Helly Hansen to lululemon and Nike, use PrimaLoft synthetic insulation which is: Lightweight, highly compressible, water resistant and warm without the bulk.

Made from fibers seven times thinner than a human hair, they build pockets of air that warm naturally via body heat, creating a high level of thermal performance.

    The skincare hero

As hay fever season returns, so too does the plague of itchy, irritated eyes.

We’ve been keeping a bottle of BIODERMA Atoderm Intensive Eye close to hand to use throughout the day to soothe and repair, but its real star quality is its ability to double-up as an ultra-gentle make-up remover.

Skip the cotton pads and simply apply with clean fingertips if your eyes are especially sensitive.

    The social activity

Looking for a way to have fun, meet new people and get some exercise in?

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has partnered with Cadbury to launch eight-week social soccer clubs across 61 venues this summer, for women aged 18 and up.

The Kick Fit programme was trialled last year and saw major success, with over 800 women across Ireland taking part in the pilot program, and participating clubs benefitting from the recruitment of additional female coaches and the formation of a women’s team.

With that said, the programme has been designed as a non-competitive programme with no experience necessary, and the primary goal is just a bit of craic.
