She’s got the look: A preview of Chanel's A/W season

Texture is the main focus for Chanel’s A/W look - Apotheosis. Think matte finishes, with a velvet touch, in earthy, autumnal shades. Christine Lucignano showcases the new season

THE RED LIP

Christine says: “This look is a bit more rebellious but done so using soft nude shadows from the Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow 308 Clair-Obscure. The eye shape and the cheek bones are subtly carved out which give an intensity through creating true shadows. This all gives way to the perfect red lip moment and for that I used Le Rouge Crayon de Couleur Mat Jumbo Longwear Lip Crayon 259 Provocation.”

NATURAL WOMAN

Christine says: “Make an impact with muted mattes on eyes by softly smudging Les Ombres Quadra in Quiet Revolution around the roots of the lashes and blend away gently. Lashes are a key feature for this look so I lashed on 2 coats of the amazing Volume Revolution Mascara both top and bottom. Skin is drenched in hydration and evened out with the Les Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturiser but pin point concealed and highlighted with the holy grail product, Palette Essential. Lips played a supporting role with a wash of Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Colour.”

COLOUR POP

Christine says: “I wanted to up the stakes on this look so I flushed the cheeks a bit more with the prior used blush Quintessence. This allowed me to dress the lips more intensely with the Le Rouge Crayon de Couleur Mat Jumbo Longwear Lip Crayon 269 Impact. It was important to have key areas of the face kept dewy to balance all of the matte products so I went back to my Palette Essential and with my finger placed the product on the bridge of nose, top of cheeks and at the inner corners of the eyes.”

HIGH DRAMA

Christine says: “This look is perfect for the true makeup lover. Although there is intensity it is made modern with less precision and more of an undone finish to the eyes. I used Stylo Ombre et Contour Eyeshadow, Liner, Khol 14 Contour Graphique all around the top and bottom lash line and before it set dry I came in with a shadow brush and blended the product into the shape I wanted. This takes less skill than you may think and is quick and impactful. Lips are defined but neutral in Le Rouge Crayon de Couleur Mat Jumbo Longwear Lip Crayon 257 Discretion. Because this eye appears a bit more moist I balanced the skin with a quick blot of powder.”
