Tried and tested

Cleansing brushes for men are the latest gadgets to hit the grooming shelves, but isn’t one brush per household enough?

Tried and tested

Joe and Keeley Bolger put the Remington Reveal FC1000 Facial Brush (€120, Boots), to the test.

She says: “My husband and I don’t often share beauty products, but we were lured by this brush’s promise of clearer, glowing skin in just one minute.

"It comes with three attachments (one for normal skin, one for sensitive skin and a massager), which vibrate and rotate to deep-clean and buff.

"You simply hold it against skin, moving it around gently, in the T-zone and then both sides of your face — there’s a timer to let you know when you’ve spent 20 seconds on each area.

“I found the normal brush too harsh and had better results with the sensitive one. I tried using different cleansers with it, and although my face did feel clean, I didn’t notice a vast improvement.”

He says: “I liked the fact the brush got into hard to reach areas, like around my nose, but my beard hair kept getting stuck in the attachment. The massage attachment felt really nice, though.”
