What are you wearing? I’m wearing a Dunnes hat, H&M blazer, Miss Selfridge bow tie, M&S shirt, shorts and tights from Penneys; and Alex and Ani bangles. The shoes were a gift from New York.
Describe your style in three words:
Comfortable, feminine, embellished.
Fashion or function — which word best describes your attitude to clothes and why?
Fashion has to be functional, for me at least. I like my clothes to be comfortable but I try to keep the look interesting with statement jewellery and sometimes outlandish accessories.
What’s your biggest source of style inspiration?
I make an effort to glance through the international catwalks to see what looks I can emulate, both with my body shape and my budget. I also take great inspiration from my sisters, my friends and Irish bloggers such as Erika Fox, the McGinn sisters and Ciara O’Doherty.
What do you think of Irish street style?
In the last decade Irish street style has developed hugely. Although, we continue to be influenced by catwalk trends, there is huge hunger for both upcoming Irish designers and a sense of ‘DIY’.
Where do you shop?
I love window shopping in Dublin’s Creative Quarter; Bow boutique and the Design Centre, but I mainly shop on the high street in Penneys, Zara, H&M and River Island.
Who or what is Ireland’s greatest undiscovered gem?
Om Diva on Drury Street is a haven for a fashion magpie like me. Their window displays are nothing short of awe-inspiring too.
Why does your style/outfit work?
I’ve recently coined the term ‘the sensible magpie’ — my wardrobe is comprised of statement basics such as blazers, jeans, leather jackets, but I update my outfit with outlandish and eye-catching jewellery and accessories.
