Canadian actor Donald Sutherland has died aged 88 following ā€œa long illnessā€, his agent CAA confirmed to the PA news agency.

The star of Ordinary People, M*A*S*H and Six Degrees Of Separation was the father of 24 TV show star Kiefer Sutherland.
