Hozier throws surprise subway session in New York

What do we love more than an Irishman with good vocal cords and a guitar in hand?

An Irishman with good vocal cords and a guitar in hand who becomes famous worldwide and remains as down to earth as ever.

Hozier surprised some New York commuters with a performance at the Rockefeller Center Subway Station.

Accompanied by a portable keyboard and a violinist, he began his surprise subway set with Take Me To Church, the song that shot him to fame, securing the number 2 spot on the UK and Ireland charts back in 2014.

It wasn't long until the Wicklow-born singer had attracted a large crowd at the station, succeeding in the difficult task of stopping busy New Yorkers in their tracks during their commute.

He also performed his 2018 hit Movement and the upbeat Almost released just this year, which had people clapping along.

Leave it to an Irishman to throw a session in a New York subway.
