‘Utter tripe’ Mark Cagney hits back at rumours he’s leaving Ireland AM

Mark Cagney has denied rumours that he’s leaving Ireland AM.
Speaking to the Herald, Cagney said the reports were “complete and utter tripe”.
Adding: “It’s total rubbish. I’m not going anywhere anytime soon”
The Cork native has been presenting the early morning breakfast show since its launch 20 years ago.
The presenter’s three-year contract is due for renewal soon and when the time comes he said he will sit down with the show’s bosses for negotiations.
The rumours come after Mark’s co-presenter Sinead Desmond quit the show after 11 years.
Ciara Doherty has since replaced Desmond but is yet to be announced as a permanent fixture to the show.
