Since its return, the Tommy Tiernan Show has fast become one of week’s viewing highlights for Irish TV lovers.
The chat show, which has been highly praised on social media, makes for some interesting viewing as the comedian is unaware of who’s he’s interviewing until they walk out on stage.
Last night actress and author, Ruby Wax sat down with Tiernan to chat about her new book, How to Be Human: The Manual.
As Tommy is unable to do any research on his guests before the chat, she explained that it documents her time spent a monk and a neuroscientist, and digs deep into the answers to the questions she put to them.
"That’s a weight of information,” he said “I’d hate to find out all that stuff”.
"Then don’t buy the book,” she replied.
“Live in your ignorance."

Off to a great start, as you can imagine.
Wax then made it clear to the 48-year-old that her book does not have all the answers.
"If I had a choice between running through a field on a windy day and a beautiful smell of flowers and stuff like that and reading a book that would be explaining to me why I wanted to do those things, I’d kind of prefer just to run," he said.
"What do you want me to say?" she replied. "I find it interesting. If you don’t, that’s fine.
Tiernan then asked the star were they "fighting?"
"Yes we are," said Wax, adding, "If you’d rather go run through a field than read a book then don’t read and go run through a field."
Let’s just say we were not the only ones watching from behind a pillow.
Brilliant interview with ruby wax. Flogging a book by explaining it poorly is ok on other chat shows. #tommytiernan— John O’Brien (@jaygrumble) January 24, 2018
This the first time I've ever seen #tommytiernan rattled. Ruby Wax put the fear of God into him.— Peter Cavey (@Twitspc) January 24, 2018
